Bella and Rileys Forever Home
Bella' Story:
Bella's story began when the man who had adopted her was unexpectedly called back to active military duty. Heartbroken, he had no choice but to surrender her to an animal shelter in Tennessee. Because many Tennessee shelters were overcrowded, Bella was transferred to Ohio in hopes of finding her forever family.

She arrived at the Parma Animal Shelter as a young puppy, where she quickly became a favorite among the staff and volunteers. Although she was surrounded by love and care, Bella was shy, frightened, and unsure of the world around her. Seeing how timid she was, one of the shelter's dedicated volunteers welcomed Bella into her home as a foster puppy, giving her the comfort and security she desperately needed.

Not long afterward, Bella's adorable face appeared on the shelter's website and social media pages.

At the same time, our family was grieving the heartbreaking loss of our beloved dog, Jovi, who had been part of our lives for 13 wonderful years before passing away from Cushing's disease. The house felt empty, and our hearts ached. Amanda knew she was ready to open her heart to another dog and began searching for a puppy.

The moment she saw Bella's picture, she fell in love.

Amanda immediately contacted the shelter to schedule a visit. When she arrived, Bella was outside with her foster mom. Without hesitation, Bella ran straight to Amanda, as if she already knew she had found her forever person. It was love at first sight.

There was another beautiful coincidence that made the moment even more special. Jovi's mother had also been named Bella. It felt as though this sweet little puppy had been sent to us from heaven, bringing hope and healing when we needed it most.

On July 1, 2023, Amanda brought Bella home. She was just three months old, and from the moment she walked through the front door, she filled our home with joy, laughter, and endless puppy energy. Because Bella still needed to be spayed, Amanda cared for her as a foster until September 2023. Once her surgery was complete, the adoption became official, and Bella was finally—and forever—a member of our family.

Today, Bella's personality shines just as brightly as her beautiful smile. She loves cuddling under warm blankets during the winter, playing with her favorite toys and chew bones, giving hugs, and soaking up affection from everyone she meets. She never turns down a healthy treat and happily enjoys lean proteins, fresh vegetables, and fruit alongside her balanced dog food. Bella isn't a picky eater—she simply loves life, and every day reminds us how grateful we are that she found her way home.
